Citrix tip: Want some IE performance goodness in your Published desktop environment?

Happy New Year all!

So early doors this year got a bunch of tickets in from user performance facing issues regards Internet Explorer performance in a XenApp environment. Indeed high CPU was being encountered across the board on a number of Published Desktops being caused by Ad’s.

All this reminded me that this was a topic that was being covered by the Project VRC (http://www.projectvrc.com/blog/25-why-web-browsing-is-killing-vdi-performance-and-costing-you-bigin due course  had high hopes from what was to come out of their findings. Alas the good team had been plucked to do other projects and never published a white paper. Finally did time early this year to do a spot of googling on the topic and found this excellent vid’ from James Rankin looking at tracking protection and from it can do to improve things from a performance perspective

Nice part of course is it covers the enterprise element including what to put into GPO’s etc.
